The Citizen Advisory Board exists to strengthen communication, transparency, and trust between the Sheriff's Office and the community. It provides a structured way for residents to share concerns, offer feedback, and contribute ideas for improving public safety and community relations.

Important Notice
To ensure clarity and proper expectations, the following limitations apply to the Citizen Advisory Board.
The board is strictly advisory only
It has no operational, investigative, or enforcement authority
It does not direct law enforcement activities
It does not access confidential investigative information unless legally permitted
Process
Community members submit feedback or apply to serve on the board.
Applications are reviewed by the Sheriff's Office for eligibility and balance.
Selected members are appointed to the advisory board.
The board meets quarterly to discuss community concerns and recommendations.
Board Composition
Board members are carefully selected to ensure balanced, fair, and meaningful community representation.
A focused group size to ensure productive and meaningful discussions.
Selected based on integrity, community involvement, and balanced perspective.
Members represent the broader community, not personal interests.
Standards
All board members are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct and professionalism.
Members must:
Act respectfully and professionally at all times
Avoid political or personal agendas
Maintain confidentiality on sensitive topics
Represent community interests fairly
Not claim authority on behalf of the Sheriff's Office
Violation of this code of conduct may result in removal from the board.
Schedule
Regular meetings occur every 3–4 months to review community concerns and develop recommendations.
Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed to address time-sensitive issues.
The Sheriff or Undersheriff may hold individual check-ins with board members as necessary.
